Harbor Freight gonna Harbor Freight. To be fair, what I really needed was a 1/2" drive 16mm socket. Now I have reason to go buy one...

...

... from Harbor Freight.

On the bright side, the Disco head job is actually going pretty well! I’ll have a full update at some point.

Doggo and Top Gear for clicking through.

I’ve snapped a snap on and craftsman reducer like that on a bolt too, so sometimes it just happens.

Good tools never let you down. Harbor Freight is good for gloves, screwdrivers, hammers, and their tool boxes are pretty good too.

I said good three times, now four times. :P

Not a job goes by where I don’t break a ratchet or extension like that. Even the mid priced ones are crap now.

You too, huh?

This was a Challenger by Proto brand 1/2" to 3/8" adapter, broken just last week. Note the big cavity behind the square drive. All that was holding this together was a ring of metal.

I always heard you can buy power tools or eye protection from harbor freight, but not both.

Mmmm, nice and ductile, just like a tool probably shouldn’t be.

Use an impact socket with a breaker bar.

most of you guys are wrong about harbor freight. i’ve used plenty of their tools to great success. their new line of power tools is excellent too. op tried putting a lot of torque through a 3/8 adaptor on a breaker bar and blamed the chrome and not black impact adaptor. just saying.

I wouldn’t use their power tools and can attest their air tools are garbage, but most everything else has met or exceeded expectations.

I used to say that but about 4 years ago bought one of those black 1500W heat guns. For $12 figured one good use and it would be fine. damn thing still runs perfect...

i bought for about $100, a 12v 3/8 ratchet that is a rebadged ingersol rand ratchet. works great, especially for the money. their low end stuff is garbage for sure but they’ve improved their mid and high end ranges. i feel like they are like kia and hyundai and their stuff was cheap and sucked before but now it’s a little more expensive but respectable. i opposite you can’t comment on the air tools, though i suspect those’ll get better soon. they have that earthquake, i think 1/2” impact that “rivals snap on”.
